After a poor start to the season I have managed to be part of the control team at Osberton for EMDG one day event at the end of February which was a really good weekend and very lucky with the weather as shortly after, the snow came down and left us all at a stand still.
Then came the cancellations of events with one after another. A couple of weeks later I was at Lincolnshire Horse trials where I was XC Stewarding. The conditions were good considering what weather we had before hand and the ground always holds up well at the showground and we managed to run nearly two days of competition before the dreaded snow showers arrived again and with snow covering the showground within a hour, we had no choice other than to abandon.
I then finally got out grooming for two days at Great Witchingham in Norfolk for Diana Bevan and Bubby Upton. Since then I have been down at Aston Farm covering the yard for Ludvig Svennerstal while he was at Burnham Market but sadly the big boys didn’t get a run there either as the weather was just bad on the Friday night for them to continue.
I should have been busy this week course building for the Burton Hunt pony club for their annual spring hunter trial, but yes, we had to cancel this also due to the conditions of the venue.
Hopefully next time you here from me, I will have been out and about to lots of places and will hopefully be packing my bags for Badminton!
Good night! x
